Vitamin E Oil
Chinese name: Vitamin E
Common name: Alpha tocopherol; JP: Tocopherol; PhEur: α-Tocopherolum;
USP: Vitamin E
Chemical Name: Vitamin E has three chiral centers, resulting in eight isomers. Natural products for the d-α-tocopherol or (2R, 4'R, 8'R)-α-tocopherol. Synthetic equivalent product for all racemic mixture of isomers, namely, dl-α-tocopherol or a single α-tocopherol. β, δ, γ-tocopherol and tocopherol acetate there is a similar situation.
CAS :59-02-9; 121854-78-2; 18920-62-2; 364-49-8; 364-50-1; 16826-11-2
Molecular formula: C29H50O2 Molecular Weight: 430.72
Manufacturing Process: Natural tocopherol by the extraction of vegetable oil or steam distillate obtained by molecular distillation. For example, α-tocopherol in corn, rapeseed, soybean, sunflower and wheat germ oil content of 0.1 to 0.3%. β, γ-tocopherol is usually in the natural material with α-tocopherol with the deposit. Racemic synthesis of tocopherol by appropriate methylation of hydroquinone and the condensation of racemic phytol different reaction.
Product categories: antioxidant; therapeutic drugs.
Physical and chemical properties: α-tocopherol is a natural substance, as a few odorless, transparent, yellow, yellow brown or light green to yellow viscous oily liquid. Solubility: insoluble in water a few; in acetone, ethanol, ether and soluble in vegetable oil.
Product content: 96.0 ~ 102.0%
Storage conditions: the slow growth in the air oxidation of phenol in the presence of iron salts and silver oxide faster. Including the oxidation of tocopherol oxidation products, birth quinone, hydroquinone and tocopherol dimers and trimers. Tocopherol acetate oxidation-resistant than free tocopherol, an effective antioxidant so rare. Tocopherol should be under the protection of inert gas, stored in airtight containers, placed in dark, cool dry place.
