Product Origins
Vincamine is found in the aerial part of Vinca minor plant and can also be derived from other plant sources s
uch as Voacanga africana and Crioceras longiflorus.
Product Applications
Vincamine is a vasodilator and anti-ischemic that increases blood flow to the brain. Vincamine is known primarily as a vasodilator and is in general
use as a treatment for dementia.
Vincamine is produced through two chemical reactions beginning with the catalytic reduction of tabersonine,
an alkaloid extract of Voacanga seeds. The resulting product, vincadiformine is oxidized forming vincamine.
Usages
Vinpocetine is a derivative of Vincamine. It facilitates cerebral metabolism by improving blood flow to the brain,
boosting brain cell ATP production, and increasing utilization of glucose and oxygen by neurons. Vinpocetine
increases the production of Noradrenaline and Dopamine, contributing, in this way, to the release of Serotonin
and the concentration of Acetylcholine. Research has shown that the effects of this compound go beyond mere
prevention and turn it into a Powerful Memory Enhancer.
