Botanical Source It lies in berberidaceae Sinopodophylum hexandrum. Its stem and root stock are used in the drugs. Pick and dig in the autumn, wash cleanly and dry them. It is perennial herbage plant. The height is about 40 to 80 centimetres. The rootstock are thickset. The stems are erect. Its base embrace bulb. There are 2-3 big leaves in the front of stem which is heart-shaped.There are 3-5 deep crenas hardly reach to the base .Its stipe are long. Its flower is pink. Its treetop is single. The leaves first open. The bacca is red .They distribute in TaiBai mountain in Shannxi, GanSu, QingHai, SiChuan,YunNan, XiZang, and grow in shrub or under thin forests whose height is 2400-3400 meters. They also distribute in Bhutan , India, Pakistan, Afghanistan。They belonged to classical East Asia and North American discontinuous distributing group. It is national third protective rare species.
