Policosanol(Octacosanol)

Usage: Policosanol (or polycosanol,) , is a mixture of primary long-chain aliphatic(non-ring) alcohols, the main ingredient in policosanol is octacosnaol.

 Policosanol is the generic term for a natural extract of plant waxes. It is used as a nutritional supplement to lower (bad) LDL cholesterol and increase (good) HDL cholesterol and to help prevent atherosclerosis.

Octacosanol is the stimulator of calcitonin and could treat osteoporosis caused by hypercalcemia.
