Function Characteristic:

 Isothiazolinones is a liquid biocide which is composed of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-thiazoline-3-ketone (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-thiazoline-3-ketone (MIT). The bactericidal effect of Isothiazolinones is carried out through breaking the bond between bacteria and algae protein. When contacted with microbes, Isothiazolinones can quickly inhibit their growth, thus leading to death of these microbes.  

It  has been used as a preservative in a variety of industrial applications, which include water treatment, paper and pulping, cooling tower, waster water, wash water, water based coatings such as paints, slurries, dispersed pigments, adhesives, latex emulsion.

The active ingredient provides broad-spectrum activity against common bacteria, algae, and fungi. CMIT/MIT 14 is approved by EPA for industrial applications. It is highly recommended for water containing systems with PH 2-9. It also can be used to formulate many different concentrations of CMIT/MIT.

Usage:

 Typical use concentrations are in the range of Grade I: 0.02-0.3 %( w/w) and Grade II: 0.1-0.6 %(w/w) in the final products. It should be noticed that a good manufacturing practices should be applied and equipment, pipes, and storage tanks should be sanitized by CMIT/MIT 14 regularly.

Attention:

Use of personal protective equipment such as chemical impervious gloves for hands, safety goggles and shields for eye are strongly advised. If the produce comes in contact with the skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention. The product should be stored at room temperature.

Packing and storage:

 Normally in 20kg,25kg and 200kg net Plastic Drum. Put in ventilated and avoid sunlight. The shelf life is 12 months (20 degree).
