Humic Acid (abbr. HA) is organic matters which are degraded and transformed
from remains of animals and plants, mainly of plants by microbe after a series of chemical process and accumulation. It is a high polymer heterrogeneous acromatic organic acid, with good physiological activity, absorption, compexation and exchange etc. It is widely found in soil, lakes, rivers, ocean, peat, lignite and weatherd coal. According to its solubility in different solvents, it can be sorted as Fulvic Acid, Ulmic Acid and Humic Acid. Usage:
1) In agriculture, with high content of organic matters, natural humic acid is the best additive for the organic fertilizer, raw material for humates based fertilizers and also can be used as soil ameliorator, plant growth stimulator and fertilizer improver. There are some main functions as the following.
- Improve the structure of soil, prevent high water and nutrients losses in light, sandy soils. Simultaneously convert them into fruitful soils by way of decomposition. In heavy and compact soils, aeration of soil and water retention are improved; cultivation measures are facilitated.
- Prevent soil cracking, surface water runoff and soil erosion by increasing the ability of colloids to combine.
- Help the soil to loosen and crumble and thus increase aeration of soil as well as soil workability.
- Increase water holding capacity of soil and thus help resist drought.
- Darken the color of the soil and thus help absorption of the sun energy.
2) In industry, used as oil drilling fluid stabilizer, cement and ceramic additive, waste water treatment agent, cathodal plate additive for accumulator.
