        EGF（上皮细胞生长因子受体），又称HER-1，是一种酪氨酸激酶（TK）受体，在多种上皮性肿瘤高表达, 其过表达与肿瘤细胞的增殖、活动性、粘连性、侵袭性、凋亡抑制和血管生成相关, 最终导致细胞的转化、增殖, 抵抗细胞凋亡、促进细胞生存, 与肿瘤的发生、发展、临床分期、生存期、预后和对治疗反应相关。其中，40～80％的非小细胞型肺癌患者可检测到这种受体。
        由于EGFR在细胞的生长和增值中的重要作用，这种受体被认为是非小细胞型肺癌治疗的一个靶标。大量临床研究指出，有EGFR扩增的非小细胞型肺癌患者对EGFR 酪氨酸激酶抑制剂（erlotinib和gefitinib）的治疗反应性明显提高，患者的疾病进展时间和生存期也明显延长。因此，EGFR基因扩增的检测成为非小细胞型肺癌患者选用EGFR 酪氨酸激酶抑制剂进行靶标治疗的关键。
        此外，存在非小细胞肺癌患者EGFR基因异常的患者对靶向治疗药物Iressa/Tarceva的敏感性更强。检测非小细胞肺癌患者EGFR基因，有助于筛选出Iressa/Tarceva的敏感人群，指导临床用药。
        本品以确诊为非小细胞型肺癌患者的石蜡包埋肺癌组织切片为检测对象，用荧光原位杂交的方法检测非小细胞型肺癌细胞中7p11的扩增，作为判断预后以及指导非小细胞型肺癌药物治疗尤其是EGFR 酪氨酸激酶抑制剂靶向治疗的一项辅助检测手段。
